A une époque où l’endroit était encore viable, David McNeil est né dans le Bronx, d’un couple amoureux, bousculé, par deux guerres mondiales, trois exils et une révolution bolchévique. Voilà que David, en 1949, arrive avec eux en France à l’âge de trois ans, ne portant pas le nom de son géniteur, les divorces sont encore difficiles à l’époque et McNeil, l’époux de sa mère est jaloux.
